Let’s Talk: Time

Hey Guys!!

Are we really half way through May? *Well technically more than half.*
Am I the only one who feels like 2017 is zooming by?
It honestly feels like so much has happened and frightening to know that more is still to come.

Time is a funny subject.

“Everything takes time.”

“Time waits on no man.”

There are quotes which show you that time is limited and if you want to achieve something you need to start acting now. Then there are others which tell you to slow down, appreciate the current moment because good things take time.
Isn’t this some sort of contradiction? Continue reading “Let’s Talk: Time”

85 Years of Growth

Two Sundays ago I attended a Thanksgiving Service on behalf of the Girl Guides Association of Antigua and Barbuda. It was their 85th Anniversary under the theme GROW.

As a member of the 1st Antigua Girl Guides Unit, the first company to be established in Antigua we are also celebrating 85 years. Attending the service brought back many memories of my years as a girl guide, along with seeing other old members. Continue reading “85 Years of Growth”

Let’s Talk: 13 Reasons Why

Hey Guys! Hope everyone is well.

Over the last few weeks I have seen quotes/messages from people about 13 reasons Why on various social media platforms. At first I was confused, because I never heard of this show; only to realize it’s a Netflix series based on a book. Everyone was going on about it, even in my group chats that I finally decided to give it a try.

Ten minutes in I decided it wasn’t for me, I was bored and the interest just wasn’t there. However, conversation continued and I felt even more curious to understand what everyone was talking about so I gave it another try. I finally completed the season last week and I don’t think I have a general description/emotion about it.

If you haven’t watched it yet I’d stop reading now *spoilers ahead*. Continue reading “Let’s Talk: 13 Reasons Why”

Daily Reminder

Hey Guys!!

Today I wasn’t really feeling myself and decided to find an old journal I had to review the pages. It’s a journal from 2014 when I was just getting into the process of blogging/finding myself. I wrote a lot about different things happening in my life along with my goals for upcoming years. Basically, I wanted to look back at past stuff to see whether I was really growing or if any changes were actually happening in my life. Sometimes the reminders are good to show you that your life do has meaning and you’ll get through this.

Flipping through the pages I also found a little poem (words I wrote) which I wanted to share; as it needs to be not only a daily reminder for me, but for others as well.

Journey to Self-Love

Hey Loves!!

Lately the idea of “self-love” has been prevalent in today’s society from music to movies and even advice given to one another. How often have you heard “If you don’t love yourself, how do you expect someone else to?” or “go love yourself girl or nobody else will?”

But what exactly is “self-love“? I think it’s pretty self-explanatory, but according to Merriam Webster dictionary it is the regard for one’s own happiness or advantage.

here's a thought to consider. self-love.: Continue reading “Journey to Self-Love”

Anxiety = My Life

anxiety (1)

First off, I haven’t actually been diagnosed with anxiety by a professional. However it’s the only way to explain my life. For as long asΒ I’ve known myself fear has been a part of me therefore causing anxiety.

There’s the fear of heights – what if I fall? Fear of flying – what if the plane crashes? Fear of enclosed spaces – what if i get trapped? Fear of speaking in front of a crowd – what if they don’t like me? what if they laugh at me?Β It was always something and trust me to have a ‘what if’ question.

Why was I like this? What made me this way?

But that wasn’t all. Continue reading “Anxiety = My Life”

4 Lessons My Ex’s Taught Me

Hey Guys

So Valentine’s Day is finally over *phew* After having to scroll through social media and witness all the “lovey dovey” posts, I recalled a question that I always seem to get asked “Why are you single?” then there’s the continuation of why they think I shouldn’t be.

Well, perhaps I’m crazy or something *jk*. Anyways, Β I’ve been single for almost three years and I’m not even sure I’m ready for another relationship. Instead I’ve been thinking about the things I learnt from my previous relationships and how I can act upon them to make the next one really work.

Year in Review

Hey Guys!!

I’ve totally flaked on my blog this week *I know*. I had the grand idea of participating in blogmas by even shortening it to 12 days and I still fell short. However, I’m here today to discuss my year, 2016.

What can I say about 2016?

I don’t think there’s any one word to describe it for it had its ups and downs. I feel like a lot happened this year pertaining to the world, but for me not so much *or maybe I’m downplaying myself a bit*. Continue reading “Year in Review”

Destination Unknown

OMG!!

I can’t believe there are only THREE days left in the year; 2016 is definitely getting out of here with quickness. That also means three more days to get my life in order and make some goals for 2017.

For this year I only started making plans in January which was extra late, but this time hopefully it’s not the same. At the beginning of the year I was living in Texas and had a totally different outlook on my life and where I’d be at this point in time.

It’s good to make plans and to have an idea of where you want to go in life and the accomplishments you want to make. However, some times everything doesn’t go as planned and changes occur. The path I had set out for myself in January took many turns, and eventually I had no choice but to go with the flow.

As I go into 2017 I welcome new pathways in hopes that they enrich me with blessings and lessons to be learnt.

Welcome Home
