5 Things To Do In Montserrat

Hey Guys!

As promised, here is my third post in relation to my travel weekend for Easter (First, Second). Known as The Emerald isle of the Caribbean, Montserrat provides nothing but lush surroundings, perfect for relaxing or exploring. These are five activities I would suggest to keep you active during your stay. However, I’m pretty sure you can find many others around the island.

Weekend Getaway // What’s in my bag?

Hey Guyyysss

Guess what’s this weekend……..Easter “holiday”

That means it’s a long weekend (no work Friday and Monday). However, that doesn’t matter to me, but for those employed *yay!*
This is my first Easter weekend being home since 2012; usually we (my family and I) go camping on one of the neighboring islands. However I felt like doing something different this year, so my best friend and I decided to go to Montserrat!
It was probably her idea initially and I just jumped at the opportunity. =)

Caribbean Bucket List

For the new year “As Told by Ali” will be making some changes all in hopes of getting better.

Therefore, since part of my blog is about adventure you may have seen a few #SundayFunday posts where I go out and enjoy all my island has to offer. My life long goal like everyone else is to travel the world and learn as much as I can about each country.

There are 196 countries in the world; not limiting myself I decided that it would be a great idea to explore my own backyard ~ The Caribbean Region ~ as well.

The islands which make up the region can vary greatly, but to me I consider anything touching the Caribbean sea as a Caribbean island. As beautiful as my own island may be it’s always nice to see what makes other islands just as spectacular. I tried my best to shorten my list, so here are my six main places that I would love to visit *in no particular order*:

Travel Tag

  1. You are leaving tomorrow to start a new life, where would you go?

    Image result for canada
Oh Canada – At the current moment my dream is to pursue my master’s degree in Canada. I always had dreams of living there as well; loved it after my first visit.

  2. You could take someone for a weekend away to the place you had your best holiday ever, where would that be and who would you go with?

    Image result for isla roatan
In my twenty-one years of life I’ve had some great holiday moments, my best one would have to be a carnival cruise to the western “Caribbean”. My favorite stop was Isla Roatan, Honduras; I would gladly return for a weekend to do some exploring and take my best friend.

  3. You can get married wherever you want and your budget is limitless, whats your choice?

Image result for antigua destination wedding
This is a tough one considering the fact that I’m unsure of marriage, can I just have a wedding for the fun of it? *Lol* If I had to choose a destination wedding spot I’d choose my very own island Antigua and spend most of the money going all out on the decor, dresses, food, and photography. On another note this is a TRAVEL tag, so maybe I should choose elsewhere?  Hmm, nah.

  4. You could go back in time and relive one family trip, which one?

    Image result for atlanta georgia
It’d have to be our trip to Atlanta, Georgia. I would suggest more activities to do in our time besides going shopping. I’m sure there’s lot to discover.

  5. During your travels you can bring home one animal as a pet which one would it be?

Strangely enough the first animal I thought of was a wolf, now where am I travelling to find a wolf? It’s the closest thing to a dog, so why not?

  6. What’s the one thing you would park first for a one year travel around the world?

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera - Urban Outfitters:
My camera of course! As soon as I invest in one it’d definitely be my travel buddy anywhere I go.

  7. What would your fantasy 100th Birthday destination be and why?

    Image result for hawaii
100th Birthday?!? Well if I make it that far I’m thinking a trip to Hawaii with my family. I tried to pick an island so I can simply continue enjoying life preferably on a beach.

  8. During your travel you can learn one sport and become a pro, which one would it be and why?

    Image result for gymnastics
Is gymnastics a sport? I think yes! I’ve always been interested in gymnastics from watching movies and the Olympic games. It’d be cool to be flipping on the bars and balance beams like a pro.

Explore SoFlo, Take 2

Ali, Ali, Ali the explorer!
Grab your backpacks!
Let’s Go!
Jump in!

So after I showed my mom how I spent one of my last days she ended up calling me explorer. Which resulted in me thinking of  Dora, the explorer hence the opening (lol I’m lame like that).

Anyway part two of my series (and sadly the last for a while) “Explore SoFlo” includes me going bike riding along Hollywood beach boardwalk, visiting BurgerFi and Ben & Jerry’s. It may just be my very first fun-filled day, and I was so close to canceling on my friend. Everything was last-minute and basically planned by me googling stuff to do in the area. (S/O to Google!)

Explore SoFlo Take 1

The one time I decide to go out with some not so close people, and well it was a FAIL. Okay, maybe it wasn’t so bad, but just not what I expected. [They’re hardly to blame]

If you read my previous posts you would have known by now that I recently (almost 2 months now, lol) moved to Miami. I also mentioned that I’m down for adventure, but it’s hard doing so solo and I didn’t have any friends here. However, I then realized that one of my close friends’ brother lived 15 minutes away. So on one of my day offs I hit him up and asked if he wanted to go visit Wynwood Walls with me. After all it was first on my “Adventure Miami” list.It didn’t seem like a bad idea at first, because he was chill enough to hang with, and would probably be a handy photographer to take my pictures.
