Seasons are for a Reason

We all go through things in life, and I think if it’s one thing we always notice is nothing lasts forever. The lows we may feel, or a spontaneous high from something exciting; it’s all temporary.

A Season does not last a lifetime

Not trying to be the bearer of bad news here, but it’s the truth. Let’s talk about the bad first. Try and remember a time where you were scared at the outcome of something; or felt like “this is it” life has no meaning and the worst thing was currently happening to you. Now fast forward to present moment, was it really?

Were all of the things you thought of previously the worst things that could happen in you life? Were there no silver linings? Did they last forever? NO!

It’s all temporary. Continue reading “Seasons are for a Reason”

Damage Control! // Hair Update

So as you know my hair growth recently turned one year a month ago, and as a “celebration” I decided to get it straightened;Β BIG MISTAKE. When I say straightened I mean blow dried and flat ironed. I began to regret it when I was in the chair but still followed through, thinking what the hell. Well, now I know that I will NEVER be doing that again or at least I’ll try finding someone different to do it.

hair update

After a week my ends started fraying and my roots were growing out but the middle was still straight. I also wasn’t feeling it anymore and definitely missed my fro, so I decided it was time to get rid of this. Now, being that it was my first time doing this I thought that once I washed my hair it will be back to normal;Β WRONG. Or is this the heat damage people talk about? Anyway, I washed my hair once and it’s still straight; it was also feeling pretty limp and lifeless. My hair used to be so thick so I was pretty disappointed. 2018: Unapologetic + Unstoppable

Hey everyone! Happy Monday and an oh so Happy New Year! We made it! It’s 2018 and I have a mighty good feeling about this one. 2017 wasn’t all that terrible nor was it great; just like any other year it had its ups and downs or more downs than ups. Nonetheless, I remain hopeful to the new year and all the good energy it brings forth.

here's to 2018_

As I read many of my other bloggers last posts of 2017 I gained so much inspiration and words of wisdom which I plan to take into the new year. The word which got to me the most however was, “Resolutions aren’t the problem. Your discipline is.”Mattie James. That in itself struck a nerve, because I’d make all these lists of goals, plan a gazillion things in my head but do I act on them? No…. I’m lazy point-blank period and that has got to change for 2018. Continue reading “2018: Unapologetic + Unstoppable”

Let’s Talk: Save Yo’ Money

Hey guys!

First, check the topic……..Now let’s be real, saving money has to be the hardest thing to do everrr, especially when unexpected things come into play. Today imma talk about ways I “saved” money in college, as well as after.

money

Know when to say no
– every weekend my friends always wanted to turn up, whether it was drinking, eating out or going to the cinema etc. Yes, you gotta be social in university and not spend all your time in the books, BUT know your limit. Sometimes you have to pass up on a few offers because you will have other responsibilities. Continue reading “Let’s Talk: Save Yo’ Money”

Let’s Talk: Social Media Crazy

Hey Guys!
Hope all is well.

As of late I’ve been hearing my friends say that I’m too “Social Media Crazy” and I get how that can be a bad thing. However, I think I have to disagree even though it made me stop and think for a little.

Social media crazy? That’s a bit extreme.

I know of all the hype around people who post lavish lifestyles on the web while they’re struggling in real life; or perhaps posting everything, thinking that if they don’t it would signify it didn’t happen.

However, for me that’s not the case. I simply LOVE taking pictures! Plus, what’s the point of capturing these moments if there’s no-one to share them with?
Hence,I really enjoy different apps for various reasons;

Instagram – for posting pictures and sharing memories with a wider audience

1 Month Post Big Chop

Can’t believe it’s been a month already, OMG!

So in July I decided I wanted to transition to my natural hair simply because I was tired of relaxing my hair frequently. Over the years my hair has changed from the very first time I relaxed it. There was heat damage, color damage and just overall DAMAGE; as a result I went through many different cuts trying to grow it back. However, I never really had the patience and kept cutting. Don’t get me wrong I loved my haircuts but also missed my length.
