Weekend Getaway // What’s in my bag?

Hey Guyyysss

Guess what’s this weekend……..Easter “holiday”

That means it’s a long weekend (no work Friday and Monday). However, that doesn’t matter to me, but for those employed *yay!*
This is my first Easter weekend being home since 2012; usually we (my family and I) go camping on one of the neighboring islands. However I felt like doing something different this year, so my best friend and I decided to go to Montserrat!
It was probably her idea initially and I just jumped at the opportunity. =)

Adventure, Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday // A Beach Photo Diary

Hey Guys!!

Look what made a comeback, yep #SundayFunday. I’ve been inside quite a lot these past few weeks, but I made it outside yesterday! Just like most of my other Sunday adventure posts, I made it to the beach; well more specifically, Maiden Island.

Maiden Island is a small offshore island about 10 minutes by boat from Antigua (depending on where you’re departing from). You can walk around the island and see different views, some of Antigua, Jumby Bay ( a popular Rosewood Resort) and another offshore island in the distance. One side of the island has a dock for access onto the island; this side is also preferred for swimming activities. The other side is usually windier and surrounded by seaweed.

Food Spots

Cutie’s for Lunch

Finally some fooooood. It’s been a long while since I had a food related post; let’s face it no one takes me out *lol* and I haven’t been in a cooking mood lately. Anyway, last Saturday in between shenanigans my girls and I went out for lunch.

Ti, my best friend suggested this new joint in town called Cutie’s (apparently that’s the owner’s name). Of course I agreed, cuz hey I’m all in for trying new spots. Lunch for us was around 12:30 after we finished walking through town. One of our other friends joined us because we were planning to meet up later for the rest of our shenanigans (my new word btw). Braid-outs & Saltwater

Hola!

What should have been my weekend in review is now a round-up of my Saturday shenanigans.

*sidenote*

Wednesday was my two month post big chop-aversary (anniversary). I didn’t do a length check, but instead CORNROWS! *at least my sister’s version of them*. Don’t get me wrong I’m pretty appreciative of them, because I could do no better.

Single twists or Bantu knots would have taken forever so I decided to try a “Braid Out” and hopefully it came out how I desired. We all know this is probably not gonna happen right? Continue reading “Braid-outs & Saltwater”

Caribbean Bucket List

For the new year “As Told by Ali” will be making some changes all in hopes of getting better.

Therefore, since part of my blog is about adventure you may have seen a few #SundayFunday posts where I go out and enjoy all my island has to offer. My life long goal like everyone else is to travel the world and learn as much as I can about each country.

There are 196 countries in the world; not limiting myself I decided that it would be a great idea to explore my own backyard ~ The Caribbean Region ~ as well.

The islands which make up the region can vary greatly, but to me I consider anything touching the Caribbean sea as a Caribbean island. As beautiful as my own island may be it’s always nice to see what makes other islands just as spectacular. I tried my best to shorten my list, so here are my six main places that I would love to visit *in no particular order*:

Sunday Funday // Raft Up

Hey guys!!

I’ve been pretty MIA lately and forgot to post about one of my Sunday adventures. Well actually I didn’t really plan to post about it, but hey why not?

Almost two weeks ago I attended an event by the name of “Raft Up: Christmas Edition.”
