What’s your FUTURE lookin’ like?

Hey guys!!

It’s been a while huh? Well, I’m still here. Work been keeping me busy, and when I’m not doing that it’s a headache to do anything blog related. Finding inspiration to keep going gets difficult at times, but I try my best to continue this journey. Giving up is not an option.

So, let’s get into today’s post *which should also serve as an inspiration*:
What’s your future lookin’ like?

Vision Boardplanning

The point of a vision board is to illustrate visually what you’d like your life to be like in the future. That may include: family, career, travel and other life goals. Pictures may be taken from the internet, magazines and other illustrations you may have at home.

Designing a Vision Board

vision boardImage: Pinterest

If you’d like to make a physical vision board all you’d need is a bulletin/foam board, pictures, adhesive and other decorative items you may desire. Pinterest is definitely your place to check out for ideas and proper planning methods.

I always wanted to make a physical vision board, but like the procrastinator that I am it never came to fruition *yet*. In the mean time I decided to settle with a digital version in which I can place as my laptop background. *In hopes that I may see it everyday and decide to work on something towards achieving those goals*

So one day I was on Adobe illustrator clueless as to what to design, then I decided to finally start this long-awaited vision board.

Digital Vision Board

Just because it’s done digitally doesn’t mean it’s any less of a Vision Board.

You’ll first start off by:

  • Deciding the time period for you board – is it short-term goals (3 months, the current year) or long-term? Maybe a mixture?
  • Finding a theme – you may want to focus on a specific goal as opposed to all your life goals. In this instance you can create multiple, smaller boards and then join them all together.
  • Gathering images/words/phrases from a source which represent your goals; you can also attach affirmations to your board for further inspiration and encouragement.

*P.S you can search for Vision Board Printables online or on pinterest for pretty cool designs you can use.*

Ideas of themes to include on your board include:

  • Relationship goals (friendship, family etc)
  • Finance/Business goals
  • Health/Fitness goals
  • Travel/Passion goals

Below is a picture of the vision board I created in March on my first try. I’m not totally happy with it, so I may revisit it and do some tweaking. As you can see I tried my best to give each theme its own space; the ones I focused on were education, summer fun (carnival) and travel. Good Vibes Only happens to be my motto for the future.

Vision Board

Creating a vision board is all fun and exciting, but IT DOESN’T STOP there. You have to put in the work! Everything you came up with as a goal needs an action plan. Place your board in an area where you’ll see it regularly and be tempted to act on it.

To make your summer even more exciting why not have a Vision Board Party???

Collect magazines, foam board, scissors and extra supplies at your local craft store, gather the girls, get some food, wine and enjoy a night of planning for your future.
This can be an inspiring and exciting way to learn more about everyone.

10 Activities To Do This Summer

Woohoo It’s finally Summer.

Well, it officially started last week Wednesday with the longest day of the year.

By now, school should be out and I know most of you have been looking forward to this season for a time to relax.  Usually on summer vacations however, after the first two weeks when you’re all caught up on rest it starts to get boring.

That’s why I’m here to help you out!
If you know you’ll have a lot of free time and unsure of what to do with it, check out my list of activities you can do this summer.

P.S. – Even if you’re not free from school (summer semester) and have extra time on weekends/after work feel free to try an activity.

Check out Pinterest for Summer DIYs that you can do in your spare time. Maybe there was a project you saw somewhere that you always wanted to do? You can make a few things to redecorate your room/apartment/office and even gift them to friends/family.

Okay, maybe you didn’t work on that Summer body during the spring or had enough time during school. Well now you have all the time to get your body ready for the next season. Generally though you should always try to remain active for good health. Try a recreational sport, join a gym or simply walk/run in your neighborhood.

Read good books, eat well or at least well enough, be active, sleep. Start caring for oneself. Spring. Rebirth. Metaphor. Words.

5 Things To Do In Montserrat

Hey Guys!

As promised, here is my third post in relation to my travel weekend for Easter (First, Second). Known as The Emerald isle of the Caribbean, Montserrat provides nothing but lush surroundings, perfect for relaxing or exploring. These are five activities I would suggest to keep you active during your stay. However, I’m pretty sure you can find many others around the island.

Weekend Getaway // What’s in my bag?

Hey Guyyysss

Guess what’s this weekend……..Easter “holiday”

That means it’s a long weekend (no work Friday and Monday). However, that doesn’t matter to me, but for those employed *yay!*
This is my first Easter weekend being home since 2012; usually we (my family and I) go camping on one of the neighboring islands. However I felt like doing something different this year, so my best friend and I decided to go to Montserrat!
It was probably her idea initially and I just jumped at the opportunity. =)

Hey April!

(via brookeweeberillustration: April Flowers. | ❀ Spring Sweetness ❀ | Pin…):

Hey guys!

Welcome to a new month.  I like the feel of new months, because I think they’re a chance for a fresh start. As cliché as it may sound it’s a great time for a new beginning; forget all about what went wrong last month and focus on the current moment. All the goals you made at the beginning of the year, continue to work on them and set individual steps to reach them. Continue reading “Hey April!”

Get to Know Me Tag

Hey Guys!!

Due to the growth in followers/views recently, I decided to do a fun little ‘Get to Know Me Tag‘. I thought it would be a great way to reintroduce myself as well as let my new viewers know who I am. I don’t think I’ve ever done one of these before, so the only option previously was to visit my About Me page.
I found this tag online via Root Report and you’re welcome to try it out if you’d like.

(This is me currently, peep the hair growth)

Here we go, get to know me —>

Hey guys!

Happy Monday! Are we almost through March already? The first quarter of the year is just about done, how are you on your goals/resolutions? Now would be a good time to revisit them and make sure everything’s on track or even make a few adjustments.

Do your goals have anything to do with your calling?
Have you found your calling? Continue reading “Monday Motivation #6 – What’s your calling?”

Friday Faves ft. BadGalRiri

Fri-Yay, Fri-nally! *phew*

The weeks seem to be flying by since January got outta here, don’t you think?

Anyway today’s #FridayFaves are brought to you by Rihanna in her recent photo shoot with Harper’s Bazaar. This is their 150th anniversary and would be the cover of the March 2017 issue to be released on February 21st.

This was the first image Rih Rih posted on Instagram, but that’s not what got me excited. Then came the subscribers issue….still unaware of the whole theme of the photo shoot. Continue reading “Friday Faves ft. BadGalRiri”

Caribbean Bucket List

For the new year “As Told by Ali” will be making some changes all in hopes of getting better.

Therefore, since part of my blog is about adventure you may have seen a few #SundayFunday posts where I go out and enjoy all my island has to offer. My life long goal like everyone else is to travel the world and learn as much as I can about each country.

There are 196 countries in the world; not limiting myself I decided that it would be a great idea to explore my own backyard ~ The Caribbean Region ~ as well.

The islands which make up the region can vary greatly, but to me I consider anything touching the Caribbean sea as a Caribbean island. As beautiful as my own island may be it’s always nice to see what makes other islands just as spectacular. I tried my best to shorten my list, so here are my six main places that I would love to visit *in no particular order*:
